Former Narrow-Gauge Train Display, Milicz Wąsk.
Milicz
A historic narrow-gauge train on the former Milicz Wąsk. station (1894–1991), next to a cycle path along the old railway embankment.
About
Milicz Wąskotorowy station, on ul. Przemysłowa, was part of the former narrow-gauge railway. The Żmigród–Milicz district light railway opened in 1894, became part of the Wrocław light railway network after the war, and finally closed in 1991.
What remains today are the embankments, now used by a cycle path of about 20 km from Sułów through Milicz to Grabownica. Rolling stock has been put on display at the former stations: in 2011 a train with a narrow-gauge diesel locomotive and carriages was placed on the old station yard of Milicz Wąsk., next to an information board on the line's history. Another train can be seen at the former Milicz Zamek stop on ul. Trzebnicka.
It's a short but atmospheric stop on a bike ride – the display is open all year and free of charge, and children usually love seeing the locomotive up close. Remember these are outdoor exhibits: please don't climb on the carriages.
