Milicz carp — Gospodarstwo Rybackie „Milicz”

The Milicz Fish Farm (Gospodarstwo Rybackie „Milicz”) raises Milicz carp in the Ostoja ponds within the Barycz Valley Landscape Park, in natural-bottom ponds and following a tradition several centuries old. The fish usually grow for three years (market-size fish also in a two-year cycle), living on natural food with only grain from local farmers as a supplement, under constant veterinary supervision.

You can buy live carp directly at the farm in Ostoja (reached via ul. Grzybowa and forest road no. 19), by weight or by the fish. Sales are seasonal: according to the producer from May to December and in January, with the busiest time in autumn, during the pond harvest season. During the Carp Days festival the farm holds fish-harvest shows with live music in Ostoja, where fish can be bought to take away or eaten on the spot (in 2026 on 3–4 October). Regular sales hours are not published, so it is worth arranging your visit by phone.
