About
Founded in 2009, the Szklany Świat social co-operative hand-blows and hand-paints glass baubles, Christmas decorations and decorative glass. It specialises in vintage designs inspired by Polish baubles of the communist era and in Barycz Valley motifs: swans, cranes, storks, the Milicz carp and painted local landmarks. Nothing is mass-produced, and in 2011 the co-operative won first prize in a national competition for the best social enterprise in Poland.
The decorations are sold in the factory shop at ul. Kwiatowa 7 in Krośnice and through the online shop with delivery. Custom baubles, for example with a name or a company logo, are made to order. If you ring ahead, you can tour the workshop and watch every stage of production; the admission ticket is buying a large bauble with a name of your choice. The phone line is staffed Mon–Fri 8:00–14:00.
